Meet the Founder

The founder of Annica Creations.

"Every piece I bring you was first chosen in Jaipur — by my own hands, with my own eyes."

My journey began in 2002, when I started sourcing beautiful pearl jewelry from Hyderabad and selling it through small exhibitions in Mumbai. In 2003, when my first daughter Anika was born, I officially registered the business and named it Annica — a Scandinavian word meaning grace — inspired by her. I didn't know then that this little company would travel with me across four countries and more than two decades.

Soon I began sourcing from Mumbai's iconic Zaveri Bazaar too, selling through small exhibitions in living rooms, community halls, and friends' homes. Then life took us across continents — to Canada, back to India through Bangalore and Chennai, and eventually to Minneapolis in 2009.

For six years in Plymouth, Minnesota, I worked in IT during the week and curated jewelry on the weekends. A dear friend who ran a beauty parlor in town let me display my pieces there. Word spread through Telugu, Kannada, Bangladeshi, Muslim, and Hindu temple communities — women came to my exhibitions, brought their sisters and friends, and slowly built a circle of customers who trusted my eye.

In 2015, we moved to San Francisco. The Bay Area's pace pulled me into a full-time career as a Product Manager — building HR tech and fintech products in Silicon Valley. The jewelry business waited patiently. For eight years, the love for this craft never left.

In 2025, I came back to my first passion. This time, with everything I'd learned about digital products, I built Annica Creations the way it always should have existed — online, accessible, and ready to reach women across America.
